I might be completely wrong, but sometimes i feel like there are certain rappers that people talk about all the time but no one ever listens to them. Personally, the rappers that i've ran my mouth about without listening to their albums first are:
Common - turned out to be a lot different than i expected
Immortal Technique - hes overrated
Jedi Mind Tricks - pulled this name out everytime i wanted to seem like a hip-hop head
The Game - Thought he was trash, now i realize he's not bad
Canibus - Thought he was hip-hop's savior. He's just another rapper
Dr. Dre - Overrated. Thought he was legendary, i was wrong
Soulja Boy - Everyone talks about how bad he is but i've honestly never listened to any of his albums.
What about you guys? who's a rapper that you've talked about or made assumptions about without listening to them?
i talk only about what i listen to...although i feel like i've heard enough of soulja boy to never feel the need to listen to him again
I can honestly say I don't do that... I might do it after listening to a couple of their songs, but never without listening.
BTW, Canibus is not just another rapper...

yeah sometimes without listening to much, but i'm usually still right about the artist with just a couple of listens
